Choosing the Right Print Size for Your Digital Photo
You’ve found the perfect photo from one of Mojo Lens’ galleries, and now you're ready to turn it into a stunning physical print. But what size should you choose?
Let’s break it down.
How Big Can You Print?
The size of a physical print depends on the resolution of the digital file. My photos range from ~8MB to ~25MB, meaning they have plenty of detail for high-quality prints. But what does that mean for print sizes? Here’s a general guide for common print sizes based on the quality you can expect:
Small Prints (Best for Desk Frames & Gifts) 4x6" - 5x7" - 8x10"
Super sharp, perfect for standard frames and tabletop displays.
Medium Prints (Great for Wall Art & Posters)11x14" - 16x20"
These sizes still maintain great detail and look amazing in larger frames.
Large Prints (Big, Bold Statement Pieces)20x30" - 24x36"
At this size, the image holds up well, especially when viewed from a slight distance.
Extra-Large & Canvas Prints (Gallery-Style Impact)30x40" and beyond
These work best with my highest-resolution images (larger file sizes) or when printed on canvas, which is more forgiving with resolution.
Pro Tip: Viewing Distance Matters
A 24x36” print on your wall might not have the same sharpness as a 5x7” print up close—but that’s okay! Larger prints are meant to be viewed from a few feet away, where the details still shine.
